Established in 1994, in Edinburgh, Malmaison now has 16 hotels around the UK – in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Oxford, Reading, Brighton, Cheltenham and London.

We’re pioneers of the modern metropolitan townhouse hotel, with an emphasis on chic, highquality bedrooms. Food and drink are also central to the character of each Malmaison hotel; our bars and brasseries are popular destinations within their local areas.

Each room has the complete set of Mal ingredients: moody lighting, satellite TV, serious wines and naughty nibbles. Other little luxuries include same-day laundry, exclusive toiletries, 24-hour room service, free internet access, hairdryers, ironing board and iron, and complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities.

Our suites are very big. Think big TVs and sofas to match. Plus roll-top baths, monsoon showers and four-poster beds. Downstairs, MALBAR is no average hotel bar. It’s lights, cocktails, action. A vibrant mix of people enjoying expertly mixed drinks in super-stylish surroundings. In the brasserie, the wine list is long, and the food is fresh and inventive. There are also meeting rooms (‘Meetings at the Mal’), fitness rooms and, in some Mals, cafés and Petit Spas.

Our locations also make us very different from other UK hotels. Guests might find themselves checking into a converted church, a former prison, a hospital, or even a Royal Mail sorting office. Each hotel is a unique transformation, designed with a bold, adventurous vision of luxurious hospitality.
