Manchester wears its diversity proudly, embracing people from all walks of life who shape its lively and thriving community like no other. And when it comes to music, oh boy, this city's got some epic stories to tell! It all started with Factory Records, home to legendary bands like Joy Division, New Order, and Happy Mondays. This powerhouse reshaped the city’s music scene, fuelling the legendary Hacienda nightclub, and subsequently the 'Madchester' era, transforming Manchester into a vivacious hotbed in the late 80s and early 90s. Crafted to reflect the city's infectious energy, Malmaison Manchester Deansgate's vibrant interiors take inspiration from its rich musical history, whilst paying homage to its pivotal role in art, design, fashion, and industry. Our rooms
Each of the bedrooms is a canvas combining influences from music, art, and fashion. One of the most profound bedroom designs is referred to as the 'Second Summer of Love,' taking us on a nostalgic journey back to Manchester's vibrant indie, rock, and rave scene that defined the city in decades past. Inspired by the legendary Hacienda nightclub, its artwork features a distinctive yellow and black chevron design reminiscent of Factory Records and Peter Saville’s iconic late '80s aesthetic. A statement sweeping canopy headboard offers striking contrast, blending classical florals with a vibrant cosmic backdrop. As you lay down and gaze at the canopy, prepare to be amazed! Surreal fish swim amongst flowers, records and lemon slices, a nod to Manchester’s musical icons.
Kicking it up a notch, in the 'Triumph of Galatea' our designers have drawn inspiration from Raphael's classic masterpiece. We’ve dubbed the design 'A Northern Renaissance’, curated to capture the city's spirit of resilience and creativity. All attention is on the canopy headboard, taking centre stage with a design that smoothly morphs into the original painting with a playful abstract distortion. It's a visual journey that reflects Manchester’s own journey, one that’s bold and ever evolving.
