Chez Mal is a fresh mix of traditional steakhouse and classic French brasserie, with bold flavours and a fun, upbeat atmosphere. The interiors combine urban style with a touch of Moulin Rouge and a dash of Las Vegas, featuring exposed brick walls, dark wooden tables and floors, and plush leather seating.
Guests will be led into the restaurant by neon lights and daily specials are advertised on a model of the classic Nevada Stardust Casino sign. Nestled between Smithfield Market, and Barbican, Chez Mal is situated in a prime location on Charterhouse Square - the latest addition to the area's thriving dining scene.
Chez Mal specialises in French classics and expertly grilled Black Angus beef. A selection of accompaniments include pomme frites, truffle mash, Meantime ale onion rings and bok choi with ginger & chili. Starters include prime steak carpaccio with watercress, mustard and parmigiano reggiano, ahi tuna tartare with avocado, pickled ginger, soy, lime & wasabi, and pan roasted scallops with spinach purée and chorizo.

The Summer of Mal menu is available in addition to our a la carte brasserie menu. From the grilled tiger prawn linguini to the seared Ahi tuna sashimi niçoise, the new Summer of Mal menu is full of fiesty little dishes to tease, tantalise and delight your tastebuds. Accompanied with a new selection of summer Malchemy cocktails, Pimm’s, sangria, ice buckets of beer and oodles of bubbles and rosé, we promise it’ll bring a little ray of sunshine with every sip, surp and gulp.
