Rising Stars Programme

Every year we run a company-wide online appraisal tool, which allows every employee the opportunity to become recognised as a Rising Star within the group, irrespective of the location or department in which they work. Each employee who is recognised to be a Rising Star, will have a personal development plan designed by their GM and a member of the P&D Team which will included access to a nationally recognised qualification most appropriate to their level, which could be a VRQ, NVQ or part of our in house training academy.

Management Development

All staff have access to our online Academy and we look to develop personal development plans to help to develop our managers of the future. We have specific courses which you could participate in encompassing:

• Motivating your team
• Leadership styles
• Planning and delegating
• Communicating
• Problem solving/ Decision making
• Giving and receiving feedback
• Profit and loss

Investing in our people is an investment in our future. It will always be at the heart of what we do.

Chefs

Malmaison & Hotel du Vin believe in having quality restaurants and kitchens. We believe in the finest locally sourced, ethically produced ingredients. We believe in having fun, but aren't afraid of hard work. But most of all we believe in good, properly trained people.

We believe that you cannot afford to ignore good training, and there is no better place to start, than with Malmaison & Hotel du Vin. We start with all the classic cooking methods and techniques, which are the building blocks of any good chef. From there you can achieve a greater appreciation of the profession and set yourself higher standards to aspire to.

Today's chefs want to be head chefs by the age of 21, but don't know how to make mayonnaise or fillet a fish. Malmaison & Hotel du Vin will teach you these building blocks, setting ability to the individual and giving you realistic development goals for the entire kitchen, whatever your experience.

This is the future for the next generation of chefs and goes someway to guarantee that a future of well-trained quality chefs will continue to run our kitchens!

If you're made of the 'raw stuff', we want to teach you!!
