The Brasserie at the Oxford Mal
Simple British classic dishes, uncompromising in quality, generous in portions. Prison food has never been so good you think, as you read the menu. Dishes prepared with a genuine passion for the local food heroes of Oxfordshire. You order the fish and something red from the cellar.
Inmates adorn your view happily enjoying their new regime. A group heads to Cell 5, far from solitary confinement with room for up to 30 prisoners. The fish arrives, freshly caught in the local area just this morning, just like your good self you think as you pour another glass of vino.
The Brasserie at the Oxford Mal seats up to 100 people. Set in the heart of the hotel the Brasserie retains the original features of the prison with the old metal staircases running through it. Arched doorways lead to private dining rooms and our alfresco terrace which is known to our regular inmates as the exercise yard. With divine dining and astoundingly good vino this is a dining experience to remember.
