Paul is a young man who has demonstrated an amazing work ethic. His drive, passion and hard work have allowed him to reach the position of General Manager at the age of 26 and Food and Beverage Director at the age of 28.
His path to success has been a fairy tale of promotion from within. Paul started in 2000 in the Brasserie at Leeds Malmaison, was promoted to Assistant Brasserie Manager and then to Brasserie Manager before leaving to be part of the opening team in Birmingham in the position of Food and Beverage Operations Manager in November 2002. In no time Paul had built a team and was running a very successful operation.
In 2003 Paul sought a new challenge with the opening of the first London Malmaison. Paul was appointed Operations Manager responsible for overseeing the appointment of all staff, training and developing the necessary skills to meet London’s high guest expectations.
Paul then became heavily involved in two Malmaison openings. With Paul’s promotion in 2005 to General Manager he undertook new challenges and experiences including the writing of the 2005 business plan and budget. Paul demonstrated a good understanding of what was asked of him and was successful in getting the budget passed in November. Through coaching and motivating his team he has achieved high staff retention and excellent guest service quality.
Paul has an open style which endears him to his staff; he is a natural listener and has the maturity of a more experienced manager. He believes 100% in his staff and in their development, promoting family values and exceptional hospitality.
Because of his passion for food and beverage and his management style as a coach and mentor to so many of the managers and teams in the company, Paul was promoted to Food and Beverage Director in 2006. He is responsible for ensuring all the food and beverage areas within the brasseries are delivering amazing hospitality and providing great food, great wine and great service.
Paul Boyce was recognised for his achievements in 2005 when he was an Acorn Winner.
