I texted the word ‘Mal’ to 80010, but have not received a response
A response may take up to 2 minutes, or longer if your area has poor mobile reception. You can try to re-send the text, checking that ‘Mal’ has been typed correctly in the text. Alternatively, just type in mobile.malmaison.com as a web address in the web/internet/WAP service on your mobile phone.
I cannot access/open the link (mobile.malmaison.com) in the text message which Mal sent me
Many mobile phones allow you to scroll on to the link within the text message. You can simply click on this link and it will open up the web site on your mobile phone. Still not working? To open the link with other mobile phones, try:
- Nokia: Options, Find, Web Address or Options, Use Detail, Web Address. Then select Go To
- Motorola: select Menu /Go To
- Siemens: move over URL and hit green call button
- Samsung: select Menu/Cut Address
- Sharp: select Menu/Extract URL
How much will it cost me to access and browse the mobile web site?
Your standard mobile operator mobile internet/WAP browsing charges apply; typically around 1p per mobile web page accessed by GPRS mobile phones. Using GPRS, your mobile operator will charge for the data size of whatever you have viewed, so viewing the Malmaison hotel images will cost you more than 1p per page.
I am browsing the mobile web site, but I am having difficulty selecting my requirements
We’ve made the mobile web site as easy as possible to use. Your requirements are selected by dropdown boxes (rather like regular PC web sites), and the only typing necessary will be for your mobile phone number, name and credit card details when you confirm a booking.
Differences in mobile phone features will make some easier to use than others. Some may not be compatible with accessing the Malmaison mobile web site.
Will I need to enter my credit card details on my mobile phone to make a booking?
Yes. In order for us to confirm your reservation we will require your credit card details to guarantee the booking. At this stage your credit card will not be charged - it will only used as a form of booking guarantee. Credit card details are sent using the latest security software, which ensures that all transactions are processed securely. Information is transmitted as separate chunks of encoded data.
When do I pay the other hotel costs?
Quote you’re booking reference when you check-in. The hotel will then take an imprint of your credit or debit card. On departure your credit card will be debited for the cost of the accommodation and any extras you may have used.
I am not sure if my booking was successful

General mobile frequently asked questions
What is WAP?
WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol, but actually it is just the means to access the internet from your mobile phone. It is not the same as browsing the web on a PC, because WAP only accesses mobile web sites that have been specifically designed for mobile phones. The Malmaison mobile web site operates over WAP.
Is my mobile phone configured for WAP?
Most mobile phones are already pre-configured for WAP. If it is not configured, please check your mobile operator’s web site to establish the WAP service settings required.
What is the Mobile Internet?
See What is WAP?.
What is GPRS?
Also known as 2.5G, GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service, but actually it just means that your mobile phone has the ability to access mobile web sites and that your mobile operator will charge you GPRS mobile internet browsing charges for the mobile web pages/content you browse.
Do I need a GPRS or 3G mobile phone to access the mobile web site?
Yes. The majority of mobile phones are now GPRS capable (also known as 2.5G) and 3G. This means that you are connected to a high-speed data service which enables you to access mobile web sites. Your mobile operator will charge you GPRS mobile internet browsing charges of around 1p per mobile web page.
You can also access the mobile web site with (generally older) GSM 2G phones, but the charges to access the site will be higher than with GPRS as your mobile operator will charge you by the minute to browse according to your normal tariff rates.
You can generally confirm whether your mobile phone is GPRS, GSM or 3G capable by checking the web site of your mobile operator, or calling their customer support.
