They said it can't be done. Free wi-fi? We did it. Great toiletries that are perfectly acceptable to sneak away with? We did it. Boutique style that's unfathomably great value. We did that too. We dare to be different and always will.
Even in the most challenging of times we stay true to this mantra. It would be so easy to cut a corner here or trim back there to save the odd buck or make a quick killing at your expense. But it's just not in us. Sorry but we're just not put together that way. Over the last few years we've expanded to a highly respectable 12 hotels the length and breadth of the UK, and we have our sights firmly set on the first of many European Mals in the next year or so, but local is our thing at the moment. We believe that no matter how big you get you simply cannot forget the small producer or the local hero who put you there. We're highly passionate about our 'glocal not global' vibe. It's not just about the local fisherman who'll bring the finest kippers to your breakfast table, it's about the local diner who comes time and time again or the p.a. who books her boss school night away at the Mal, and drinks there with her pals at the weekend or the local lad done good who runs our brasserie. Daring to keep it local means we are playing our respectful part in the community and making sure we never get too big for our very stylish boots.
