The Mallard Suite
The newly opened Malmaison in Reading, the Brunel designed former Great Western Railways Hotel, has not surprisingly named their suites after legendary train engines that used to whistle through the town.
The Mallard Suite (at £350-00 per night) is the most sought after with its own elaborate fully working electric train set complete with village, pub, church, sidings, farm, animals, tunnel and junctions.
Warning to newly weds!! This is not the best place for the first night of the honeymoon. It transpires that bridegrooms are finding the lure of steam, shunting, sidings and engine couplings more than a little distracting!!!
